Pipsqueak Peeps
~ free crochet pattern ~

Here’s another very simple, quick and easy crochet pattern for Easter! These cuties are crocheted with the super fluffy soft yarn from Bernat – the Pipsqueak yarn! Although soft and fluffy, they are quite hard to see while crocheting, you sort of have to ‘feel’ the stitches to know where your hook should go. For that reason, I do add a helper yarn (that’s what I like to call it) and it does help a lot in seeing where your next few stitches are going to be. For the samples, I picked a lightweight yarn that matches the color of the pipsqueak yarn and it really helped a lot.

Chillin’ with the Peeps
~ free crochet pattern ~

A very simple, quick and easy crochet pattern for Easter! Crochet these peeps with worsted weight yarn or that super soft Bernat Blanket yarn! The purple, pink and green peeps are done using worsted weight; the blue peep is done in the Bernat Blanket yarn, which is a super bulky #6 weight yarn. You will notice I used Caron One Pound for both the purple and green peeps, but used Vanna’s for the pink — that is because I ran out of the Caron One Pound in Soft Pink! I actually did go to JoAnn’s to see if I can grab another skein of soft pink, but they didn’t have it in stock. I do recommend to use the same yarn weight & brand if you are making a few peeps so the sizes stay consistent. My pink bunny turned out a little smaller than the others.

The Cat in the Hat Amigurumi
~ free crochet pattern ~

This Cat in the Hat amigurumi was created for my little one, who went to see the Cat in the Hat puppet show at a children’s theatre. He brought the cat with him and my husband took photos to show me how he was hugging the cat while watching the show. It is such a good feeling to know someone cherishes your handmade gift, isn’t it? The Cat in the Hat now sits at home with our many Dr. Seuss books.

Mardi Gras Mask for Kids
~ free crochet pattern ~

Mardi Gras is Tuesday, and believe it or not, this is the first Mardi Gras project I’ve ever made with my kiddos. We don’t really celebrate Mardi Gras, but thought it would be fun for the kiddos to learn about this holiday and have fun dancing around with their masks.

We browsed through photos of Mardi Gras celebrations on the internet and learned that the holiday signifies the last night of eating rich, fatty foods before the ritual fasting for Lent. We also studied the three main colors and what it represents. Purple symbolizes Justice. Gold symbolizes Power. Green symbolizes Faith. Then, it was time to crochet the masks! The two of them picked out the colors from my yarn box and I started hooking!
