Here’s another very simple, quick and easy crochet pattern for Easter! These cuties are crocheted with the super fluffy soft yarn from Bernat – the Pipsqueak yarn! Although soft and fluffy, they are quite hard to see while crocheting, you sort of have to ‘feel’ the stitches to know where your hook should go. For that reason, I do add a helper yarn (that’s what I like to call it) and it does help a lot in seeing where your next few stitches are going to be. For the samples, I picked a lightweight yarn that matches the color of the pipsqueak yarn and it really helped a lot.
A very simple, quick and easy crochet pattern for Easter! Crochet these peeps with worsted weight yarn or that super soft Bernat Blanket yarn! The purple, pink and green peeps are done using worsted weight; the blue peep is done in the Bernat Blanket yarn, which is a super bulky #6 weight yarn. You will notice I used Caron One Pound for both the purple and green peeps, but used Vanna’s for the pink — that is because I ran out of the Caron One Pound in Soft Pink! I actually did go to JoAnn’s to see if I can grab another skein of soft pink, but they didn’t have it in stock. I do recommend to use the same yarn weight & brand if you are making a few peeps so the sizes stay consistent. My pink bunny turned out a little smaller than the others.
Easter is way early this year – April 1st! If you’re looking for some quick and fun Easter crochet projects, these may be for you! These fun Little Holiday Appliqués are worked in the round, similar to the form of amigurumi and can be stuffed with fiberfill to create a 3D/puffy appliqué or flattened!
You may want to stuff it if you plan to hang them as a keychain on a bag or give to children as a small plush toy. You may also flatten the appliqués to sew on Easter baskets, blankets or hats!
This little bunny hat was originally scheduled to be posted before Easter…but as you can tell, it is now June. I am almost embarrassed to be posting this now…oh well, better late than never, right? Maybe some of you can make the bunny hat now in preparation for this Fall or next Easter!
I am so happy to see many of you are working on the The Traveling Tu Family pattern, even though Easter is only a few days away! I have already seen some finished projects and I must say, I LOVE them all!! Thank you to those who shared their projects with me either via private message/email, on my Facebook page or by tagging #doriyumi on Instagram.
So how about another little free crochet pattern to go with the Traveling Tu Family set? A fellow crafter requested some little eggs to go with the bunnies and I said to myself, why the heck not? I don’t even know why I hadn’t thought of it in the first place. Duh!
A few days ago, I published a post about The Traveling Tu Family, which is a FREE crochet pattern I’ve designed exclusively for Melody’s Makings. Since then, my little one has been telling me that the bunnies need a basket to store their carrots. Because, you know, they can’t just leave it on the ground (the carrots will be dirty, Mommy!). So here we are, a free crochet pattern for a little basket of carrots!!
